Nowadays, thousands of websites are launched everyday and the most of them are scrappy websites. The key reason behind this is – business owners do really ignore imperfection. And, which results in losing the website’s credibility and authority. If you are a web developer, designer, or entrepreneur whose business basically relies on your website, then ensure that the below mentioned factors will help you in launching your website successfully, without a hitch. In Part 1 seven points are discussed for successfully launching your website. We will look at seven common issues:

1.    Validate The Content Before Launching Your Website

1. Validate The Content Before Launching Your Website

Importantly, you need to emphasise on proper proofreading of the features and functionalities of the website before launching. Quite often everyone does mistakes and no matter how minor it is, it will hamper the credibility of the entire website. And, if you are offering your services through website, then it becomes necessary to validate each and every factor before launching your website.

Another major factor that may hamper is – avoid publishing web pages without showing the actual content. For example – never write “coming soon” or something similar to that in case you are not ready with the page. Always remember, don’t launch your website until you don’t have the content for important pages like About Us and FAQ etc.

2. Proper Contact Information

If your website involves selling or purchasing of a product or your services, then it’s important to show your contact details on website like phone number, email address, and mailing address and skype Id etc. By adding the contact information you are making your website credible.

And, if you are situated outside the US then you must use a 1-800 number, or VOIP services like Skype for a US number that you can use.

3. Accurate Meta Description

Meta descriptions also play a significant role in SEO, and they are also important because Meta description is the content that people see on searching your website. And, if people don’t like what they’re seeing on the search results, they will most likely not click the website. Ensure to properly optimize your site and include a description to add brief title and description to make your website SEO friendly and appropriate.

4. Kink-free Site Security

Every day thousands of websites are being hacked, especially if the targeted website is a high-volume website or a new one. If your website is not hacked, then your personal and financial information can still be at risk. And, if you are not a web developer, ensure to hire an expert who can aptly check your website’s source code for potential security flaws that includes latest hacks, cracks, SQL injections, and XSS vulnerabilities.

Always remember that if you are using a WordPress website, installing WordFence Security is highly recommended. As it will notify you about the website changes, will block gratuitous logins, notify you of the things that need update, and other important security details as well.

5. Incorporate Legal Pages

Terms and Conditions, Terms of Use, Terms of Service, Refund Policy, and Privacy Policy are the pages that need to be added in your website. These pages play a key role because they cover the legalities involved in people by using your website, right from copyrights, use of cookies, and detailed information about your company. And, if you are using WordPress, you can install a plugin called Auto Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Or definitely, you can generate your own page on Termsfeed.

6. Enhance Website’s Promptness by adding JavaScript

By adding JavaScript, you can add a lot of client-side functionalities to your website. And, its light weighted too. But not every browser works similarly, some have their JavaScript turned off, while some don’t know how to turn it on. JavaScript addition will make your website look complete and unbroken to other visitors.

7. Complete Backup Option

However, your web host most likely will keep a backup of your website, but don’t just blindly faith on that. Most of the web hosts are not sufficient at keeping whole backups, unless you are paying them thousands of dollars every month. So, to keep the complete backup, do nightly or weekly backup, depending on your needs, and keep the backups saved on different locations independent from your host. And, if you are using WordPress, you can also install a plugin called Dropbox Backup which will automatically download the data of your entire database and will save it to your Dropbox account at the set intervals.
